Connecting to the interweb
Oct 31st
So Monday was the first day in the new offices, and we were not impressed, we were supposed to have internet, but we didn’t.
So I had to work from home again… It was annoying just cause I had to drive to the office, and then back home for pretty much no reason…
Well today one of there IT guys comes round to “help” setup my laptop on to there WIFI network… You should have seen his face when he didn’t see windows… he was litreraly WTF… bwahahaha…
Anyways, we then decided to go with iBurst, and what do you know by the time I left @ 15h30 I had reconfigured our dev server, and we now have a network connection at the office… I can’t believe that I managed to set this up so quickly, clearly I have learned something…
Well that’s enough rambling for now
Sickness, lack of time, and working from home.

Yesterday morning, I wasn’t feeling lekker, ends up I had a stomach bug or something, ended up loosing the contents of my stomach a couple of times…
Well today I seem to be fine, so I think it was just one of those one day things…
I can’t belive how time flys, but yet we still don’t have time to do things we would like to do. it;s really sad…
And then on another note, I’ve been working from home for the past week, and as far as I can tell things have been going well. I’m actually enjoying working from home, as there are less distractions, but then again because I’m home I supposedly have time to do stuff around the house :/
Ag anyways, all is going well, and I can’t wait for December, holidays++
Taxis and stuff…

So I’m on my way home yesterday, and a taxi decides to drive into me, luckely there is very little damage to my car, just a couple of blue lines
On other news, we not 100% sure when yet, but we are planning on moving down to CapeTown between the end of the year and March 2008. Just wanting to get rid of 90% of our debt first.
We both just getting tired of Johannesburg, it’s the traffic and the taxis and the crime and the pace of things up here…
Debian And Slow Touchpad
Oct 7th
Taken from: SevenCapitalSins
The Problem: some touchpads are REALLY slow under Debian, you have to tap like a piano player to get the little arrow from one window to another.
So I finally found out why my touch pad was slow, maybe now I can use it…
Just change the Option “Protocol” to alps then everything fine.
Almost complete
Oct 4th
Well as you can see the new site is now up and running
There are a few things that still need to be done, like the categories and comments don’t work yet…
On a different note, it’s my dad’s birthday today, dunno if you listening but, HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD, sorry I had to shout as he is in Kazakhstan at the moment.
New work laptop
Oct 2nd
Well, I’ve finally finished setting up my new work laptop (Debian Etch – I’m thinking of upgrading to testing/unstable, not sure yet), it’s a Dell Precision M70
- CPU: Intel(R) Pentium(R) M processor 2.13GHz
- Memory: 2048 MiB
- Harddrive: 80 GB / 74 GiB
- Graphics: nVidia Quadro FX Go1400
- Screen: WUXGA (1920×1200)
- Ethernet: Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme BCM5751 Gigabit Ethernet PCI Express
- Wireless: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network Connection
- Bluetooth: Dell Computer Corp. Wireless 350 Bluetooth
So far it seems like everything is working, well wireless isn’t quite 100% at home, but I think this is related to my AP.
Other than that I’m really enjoying this laptop, especially the resolution.
