UPS finally installed

!yay! I finally got some time this morning to install my UPS

Hopefully it has time to charge before the next blackout

It’s not a very big UPS but hopefully it will give me enough time to at least shutdown my firewall, I’d had to loose a disk or cpu cause of the power

Now to get a serial cable and test if Debian can be controlled via the UPS’s serial port :)

Catelyn is mobile

It was bound to happen soon. But Catelyn is crawling, well she has been doing so for about a week.

So this weekend, as expected, she found our cd’s and dvd’s, and one by one they found the floor, luckely she can’t open them _yet_.

Needless to say we are moving the dvd’s and cd’s…

It starts… The era of moving stuff out of reach

Symfony and git

Well decided to tryout a php based framework, and decided on symfony, it seem pretty good, nice and easy to use. It took me _alot_ less time to recreate this site using symfony.

Going to recreate reddevil.co.za using symfony aswell, hopefully this will be quick, and will make maintainance a lot easier

I also decided to try GIT. It also looks good so far, finally managed to setup a central git repository, I know this is kinda against the point of git. But I like the idea of having a local repository that I can commit changes to and then once happy with all the commits I can send them to the central repo

Wireless Access Point

So finally the WAP gave out, it no longer switches on :(

I’m not sure if it’s from the constant blackout’s we’ve been having, thanx Eskom

Well I’m looking to get a new one, preferably one I can load Debian onto :) , DebianWRT project

I need a holiday

Why is it that after you go on holiday you feel like you need another one… :(

Well at least while we were in the Cape on holiday, Cecilia managed to get a job, and we found a house.

It’s a cute little place, two bedrooms, one bathroom, and a nice yard front and back. The rooms are a little smaller than the flat we in at the moment, but there is a nice garage and a dinning room (which will be the study/dinning room).

So that means we moving around the middle of February, and I can’t wait, well except for the cost of moving… :)
