We have arrived!!!

Ok, so it’s a bit late, but we are now in CapeTown, not quite settled in, but we have moved in, I think all the boxes are unpacked, the PC’s are setup, and life is starting to go on.

It was a very long drive down, but we made it, had to stop once to get some rest (as in sleep). but all in all we made it.

Hopefully soon we will get some pictures put up of our place, still need to get some pictures and plants and stuff for the house.

Remote Server Installation

Ok this is also a little out dated, as the servers have been up for 12 days… :)

On the morning of the 25th January 2008, I embarked on a feat of great proportions, I remotly reinstalled three servers.

Yes one shouldn’t blog about work stuff, but this is a personal achivement

The company I work for has three server, hosted in the UK, and the reinstallation was done from my “office”

I am so pleased that everything went relatively smoothly, and I really don’t know what all my fuss was about. :)

Anyways, these servers are now all Debian Etch boxen, still not 100% complete as I need to get load balancing working, but the main server is handeling the load, which when it was a redhat box it didn’t do this well.. so already an improvement… :)

It’s official

Well this post is a couple of weeks outdated

But it’s official we are moving

So in two weeks and about 2 hours, we start our drive down to Capetown. :)

And in other news, Catelyn is kinda walking, holding someones hands though, but still… they grow up so fast… :)
