Cars

Various ramblings about cars

What a month… – Update

So, things are slowly getting back to normal… Quote has been approved, they hopfully start fixing the car in the next couple of days. I also got my phone yesterday.

I know I have chosen to not talk about work here, but I just have to mention that I am very happy working for TheClassified, my boss (Jonathan Page) has been very helpfull and patient during this time, I am very greatfull. Thanks Jonathan.

Well that is all for now, hopefully don’t have to wait too long for my car, although I’m gonna miss the rental car when I give it back… (VW Golf 1 – brings back memories)

Broken Bumper

What a month… :(

So last week tues (29 Sep) I decide to walk to the shops and I got mugged, lost money, cards and my cellphone…

Then on my way home from work today, I hit a dog. Lucky for the dog it was quick and painless, but unlucky for the car, the raidiator is cracked, and bumper is broken.

Now comes the insurance… Well I’m hoping thats the end of it… sigh…

Cecilia has a car

Cecilia got her learners licence the other day (actuall can’t remember the date), on her first sitting. So her licence test is set for the 25th February 2009, out in Fredendale (sp).

Well since she is going to be driving around, and I basically need the car to get to work, we thought it best to get another car, something small and light on petrol.

Cecilia really liked the Chery QQ3, so we now have a silver one. It’s got an 800cc engine, and over the last couple of days I’ve been driving it to work and it’s actually alot better than I thought it would be. Oh yes, and it’s silver unlike the picture below.

New registration

So earlier today I finaly got my cars licence sorted out.

It expired on the 29th Feb, and due to us moving we didn’t bother till we got here.

Well I no longer have a XXX XXX GP numberplace and now have a CY XXX-XXX number plate. :)

And maybe in the next few months we will change it again to a custom plate. We’ll see ;)

We have arrived!!!

Ok, so it’s a bit late, but we are now in CapeTown, not quite settled in, but we have moved in, I think all the boxes are unpacked, the PC’s are setup, and life is starting to go on.

It was a very long drive down, but we made it, had to stop once to get some rest (as in sleep). but all in all we made it.

Hopefully soon we will get some pictures put up of our place, still need to get some pictures and plants and stuff for the house.

Holidays Finally

So we landed safely in CapeTown, last week friday. *blush*

Well things have been rather hecktick, well we picked up the car, we were expecting to get a Nissan X-Trail, well we didn’t get that we got a Mitsubishi Outlander, and I was a little disapointed as its an automatic, but we went with it anyways.

Boy am I impressed, I want one!!!! :) :) As long as I have the “key” in my pocket, I can just walk up to the car and open the door, get in and switch on. NO KEY!!! that is like so hecktick… and then there is the engine… power++ ok maybe it’s cause I’m used to driving a 1.4l…

Catelyn is loving the beach and sea… we’ve taken her a couple of times and she just loves it… oh and she loves sea sand… lol…

Taxis _AGAIN_

So this morning I go to get my hair cut (yes Cecilia forced me), on my way back, a *insert profanity here* taxi decided to do a UTurn right infront of me.

So one again my car is damaged, and I am really starting to get ******ed off with these damb taxis, all I can say is that I’m glad I don’t own a gun!!!

Anyways, enough venting… can you believe it, three posts in one day… ;)

Taxis and stuff…

So I’m on my way home yesterday, and a taxi decides to drive into me, luckely there is very little damage to my car, just a couple of blue lines :(

On other news, we not 100% sure when yet, but we are planning on moving down to CapeTown between the end of the year and March 2008. Just wanting to get rid of 90% of our debt first.

We both just getting tired of Johannesburg, it’s the traffic and the taxis and the crime and the pace of things up here…
